California Clinical Trials
California clinical trials are almost always administered by the researcher who designed the study and applied for the grant, but sometimes they might also be administered by the sponsoring company. Clinical trials, whether they are in California or if they are federally funded and span many states, will always take place in different phases. California clinical trials in Phase III or Phase IV will typically be administered by a contract research organization hired by the sponsoring company. At this point there is great oversight over the entire process to ensure safety of clinical trials healthy volunteers and provide the most accurate results possible.
A contract research organization that conducts California clinical trials are companies that are contracted to perform all the administrative work on a clinical trial, and they are provided with all the drugs and oversight from the sponsoring company. During the clinical trials they will recruit the researchers, train them, provide the supplies, organize the administration and collection of data, set up meetings, and so forth. The CROs that conduct California clinical trials also ensure that all of the clinical protocol is followed, and will do everything in their power to provide only clean data to the sponsors.
Many people are involved in California clinical trials from the beginning of the research to the last phase, including one or more research assistants who are often nurses that do most of the work in the actual conduction of the research. The clinical trials healthy volunteers are perhaps the most important people in these research investigations, though, because without them there would be no human subjects to study. After eligible patients are identified for these clinical trials, consent must be obtained from them or their families, study treatment(s) must be administered, data is collected and files are maintained. There is a great deal of work and communication involved, but it is necessary to ensure the safety and effectiveness of these trials.
